It’s not often I jump straight out of the shower and run giddily down the hall, naked as the day I was born but with the sole purpose of getting to my phone to share the magnificent discovery I’ve just made. But tonight, its happened.
Ill admit that I am now fully clothed (in evening attire befitting a lady of my calibre of course.. A Peter Alexander Tshirt and Big W PJ pants if you were curious) but the excitement has not died. Oh no no no. The flame still burns deep within me. And no, it’s not the warmth spreading through my body from the hot chilli sauce I had with dinner. It’s the thrill of discovering a brand, spanking new product that has rocked my mittens right off.
I can only liken the thrill to how ancient man must have felt discovering fire or how the guy who invented zip-lock bags (I hail him as a genius) must have felt when he made the mind boggling decision to snap two bits of plastic TOGETHER. Discovering this body scrub was THAT GOOD.
A colleague at work was showing of her arms today (we do that kind of thing around our office) as she’d done a DIY body scrub and her arms were so soft. Like seriously soft as a babies bum.
Buoyed up with enthusiasm, I decided to pull a scrub out of the black hole that is my beauty box, nude up and scrub my little heart out while standing on my sons funny fish no slip bath mat (a surprisingly convenient addition to ones at-home spa). The scrub in question was AHAVA softening butter salt scrub and I’m now berating myself for letting it glide under my radar for so long.
It ticks so many boxes on my ‘essential scrub’ list; smells divine, soft but sturdy texture but where it differs is the way it works. It goes on to dry skin, as a buttery, grainy kind of paste (but very spreadable.. Hate me a scrub where you need half a jar to cover the bottom of your foot) but upon adding water, turns into a body oil/butter/milk. I scrubbed up in the bath with dry skin and dry hands and then hopped into the shower and added water and hey presto.. It was like I had started with a scrub and ended with a in-shower body oil that stayed on my skin after I hopped out. And talking of skin Z O M G the softness! The smoothness! I can’t stop running my forearms. I look like a loon but I don’t care cos its so darn marvelous.
Highly recommend it peeps! Xx
